Weeks passed after the encounter with Joseph and Abigail began her training in Telepathy and became very good at it. Her training consisted of zoning out all thoughts besides one, communication through thoughts and physical labor to keep the body in shape.
“Come on, Abigail! Push!”
Abigail slowly inched her way forward while pushing an old rail car full of boulders on the railroad tracks. Sweat dripped from her brow as she stopped for a moment to catch her breath.
“Come on, Abigail! There ain’t no rest for the wicked!” yelled Blain on top of the rail car.
“Oh don’t give me that crap! I’ve been pushing this thing for a half a mile! It’s heavy as hell!”
Blain jumped down from the top of the car and leaned against it, “This is to get you in shape and to push your new found strength. It’s not supposed to be fun or anything. I need you to be in the best possible shape when the enemy arrives.”
